Flying the flag in the Gulf of Guinea - Ghana

For a first trip to Africa, I couldn't have found a better place than Ghana. The mood is mellow, the rhythm is easy, people are friendly, the nightlife is great fun, the food is original and tasty, going around is fairly straighforward, there are plenty of things to see and it's not terribly expensive. Having been there for only two weeks I can't wait to go again.

... and everywhere there is a riot of colour

Cons:Heat, malaria risk, poverty-related sanitation problems
