Welcome to Kdoc13's spot on VT.

Welcome

Kevin and Penny at the Imperial tombs in Beijing
This is my home on the web for all of my travels. I have seen a bit of the world, and would love to see more of it. The stuff about me is below, there are plenty of sites to chose from, more will be added as the years go by. Feel free to contact me if you think I can be of help with something.

About me.

I am a former comedian, computer engineer, and Sign Language Interpreter, and now a law student in Dayton, Ohio. Hopefully, I will have my degree and pass the bar hopefully by the end of the summer of 2006. After that, I just want to help people and make the world a better place, even if it means I have to be poor to do it.

I love to travel, and am writing a book about Korea. I have even hosted a travel show about my hometown which was shown once before being destroyed. It was a combination of David Letterman type man on the street stuff and Insomniac. I loved doing it and wish someone would give me the opportunity to do it again. Look out Rick Steeves, I am gunning for your job!

About my travels.

Ok, I am fascinated with Asia. I went to Los Angeles and spent most of my time in Little Korea, and the Japanese Quarter. Korea is my favorite place on earth, although Tokyo and Beijing both have special places in my heart.

Where do I travel when I am there? Well, I enjoy the tourist trap type things. I don't think there is a palace in the Far East that I haven't visited. But, I also like to check out the things that make other tourists squirm a little bit. There is a great story I love to tell about getting shanghai-d in Seoul and dragged into a Russian Mafia strip club. It is a don't let this happen to you story, but a good one for the grandkids. I have no problems with visiting the dark side of a country, I just try to maintain my morals. Everyone's are different and I won't judge. All I ask is that you try to be a good representative of your country in exchange.

My Travel Philosophy.

Two of the most important things I can tell you are this. First, just because you come from a country like America, it doesn't make you better than the locals. Second, Street vendors who are bugging you about stuff they are selling are just doing their job. Be polite, say no thank you (preferably in their language) and remember that you have to do your job too.

I think you shoudl see every aspect of the place you are visiting, from the fanciest restaraunt, to the Red Light districts (although you don't have to partake, and are safer not doing so) to the lower income areas. If nothing else but for the feeling of being blessed about where you come from, but also to know that there are things in this world that you can and should try to change for the better.

As an American, I can tell you that most American's instantly become jerks once they get overseas. If you plan to be one, don't even bother asking me for info about a place. I believe in kindness, and being polite to everyone, especially as a guest in their country.

My final thoughts.

If there is anything I can do for you, questions beyond the travel guides on this page, or if you are going to be someplace I am, and want to get together for a beer, by all means let me know. Until then, travel safe.
I did fancy her. And if you fancy a beer, call me.
Friends, that would be super!

New friends!!! It's been a while, but I made some friends which I should add.

First up is the lovely, 1Lar. I love her Hong Kong pictures, and Lar is just a cutie!

Finally, a lady who lives just down the highway from me, BeatChick from Cincinnati. By far the leading authority on the Queen City and one of the best for Paris too!

Japan Now, Dayton Soon.

I was lucky in that right after my exams, there was a plane ticket which arrived at my door. A law firm in Japan wanted me to come and visit and interview for a summer job there. How cool was that! So, I am in Japan right now. This firm is taking VERY GOOD care of me! This is the best I have ever traveled. My interview isn't until Thursday, thanks to Golden Week, but I have had a few days to play around and revisit a city I love! But soon I will be back on a plane. Hopeful to have this job and return in a couple of weeks. If not, well, there is always Dayton. You can feel my excitement about that.
Smell that, it's Dayton!
