Musée Marmottan: Excellent art and refreshingly not too busy

This just could possibly be my fave Paris museum! It's not as busy as the other museums, but still has excellent works. For those who dread museum fatigue - miles to walk and so much to see that one goes blinded, you won't suffer that here! it's small and compact. Okay; so I'm biased in that I just luuurve impressionist works - especially Monet's. "Impression soleil" is just soooo damn good. Check out the brush strokes on the sun's reflections on the water, and more so the burning red sun itself.

Don'tbe put off by tacky Pigalle - ignore the hustlers and move on up by Sacre Coeur (but first enjoy the views from it!) to the Montmartre area. This just screams out peace, tranquility and geselligheid! (I've not seen the film Amelie, but I believe it is set in this arrond.?) Take in Au Lappin Agile, pay homage to Vincent at 54 Rue Lepic, and bask in wonder at Moulin de Galette.

It's worth it for 'Impression soleil levant' alone. Refreshingly not too busy for a Parisian museum.
