Freiburg is a University town in Southern Germany, you need to stroll round the lane's to soak up the atmosphere of this cosmopolitan City. With it's curb side water channels, it's many fine building's and Churches.
The Cathedral in the Munsterplatz dominates the square.
Some of the building's date back to the 16 century.
Close by you will find the oldest Inn in Germany, the "Roter Baren".
There is a daily market held in the square selling fresh goods, Badisher delicacies and craft gifts. The market closes around 2pm, but the food stands are there a little longer, so try a sausage or 2 delicious, or sit outside in one of the many restaurants and do some people watching.
Use the Park and Ride and take the tram system which are are very good and well signed posted. There are many of them dotted around the City, and so easy to use.
You will find the student quarters the cheapest place to eat.

Spend time to wonder around the many side streets that turn up some nice surprises. Plenty of places around to park your bike.
