Egg Rolling

The Easter Egg Rolling Extravaganza held in Avenham Park on Easter Monday is a tradition held in Preston for many years. Hard boiled eggs decorated with various colours are rolled down the hill with great excitement.
Alongside the time-honoured egg rolling, a popular hit with the youngsters, there is plenty of music, expect jazz and samba to join the distinctive sound of the brass band's as well as craft stalls, Punch & Judy, a children's funfair and other attractions that in previous years have included displays by the Turbary Bird of Prey Centre. A special feature is the children's Easter Bonnet Parade, judged by Preston's mayor and mayoress.
When the weather is fine it's a great day out, and lots of fun.
