Staufen Off the Beaten Path Tips by mustertal

This is a walker's paradise, you can buy walking guides from new agent's or the tourist office and most shop's, there are guided walks arranged through out the region, taking you up into the forest.
Try walking along the wine trail up to the Castle in Staufen, or along the railway track from the centre of Staufen that Winds down through the countryside and head's out towards Dietzelbach, This takes you into the forest and then follow the marked paths to Munstertal, stop off on the way. You will find many path's and picnic area's. Don't forget your camera and bottle of water. Bird lover's will not be disappointed either. In Mustertal there are plenty of cafes a local museum telling you all about the charcoal and mining that once went on in the area, or carry on through the village into the beautiful forest.
