Gillybob suggested a "Winter Warmer " in Torremolinos, it also coincide with the VT Barney Awards, I couldn't think of anything better or any better people to spend time with than my fellow VT'ers in Spain.

I'd been to Torremolinos some 14 years previously, it had expanded quit a bit since my last visit, then so had I ! Although I thought it was in some need of a make over in some areas.

Formerly a fishing village which was developed into one of the largest tourist resort on the Costa del Sol in the 50's and 60's.

It is well spread out, the Paseo Maritimo runs from the Playama in the East to La Carihuela in the West, then onto Benalmadena. This is a nice long walk right along the sea front with plenty of stop off places.

The main town is on a hill above the beach area and is a good hike up steep steps, through wending streets.

Good place for a VT meeting! I remember riding through this area on my bicycle in the winter of 1963. At night they had floodlights on and were building new hotels round the clock, to have them ready for the summer season.
