Abstract Bookshop & Cafe This used to be the world's most eclectic youth hostel, bookstore and cafe run by libertarians (like myself). The music club, the plays, the poetry readings...the travellers from around the globe. It is now a residence for the mentally ill. |

The judge The Chief Judge of the Appelate Court used to preside over the bookstore's community meetings and music events, even underground alternative. The Abstract's backwall signed by many a band on its way through New Orleans after playing at a club and then an after party at the Abstract. |

Poetry New Orleans is full of many poetry reading places, many coffee shops. But one coffee shop, Borsodi's stood out among all the others world wide. Established by an anarchist and fellow merry prankster, the coffee house was a self serve honour system wherein all furniture and record albums were donated by the neighbors. Unfortunately, Borsodi and his cafe have trancended this life. |
