Penang has always been a special place to me. I love the island life, enjoy the food, fascinated by its beauty, and being reminded of Malaysia's colonial past. It is the only state in Malaysia that Chinese is the majority population. In some ways, Penang is similar to Singapore. Although it is not as modern and advanced as Singapore, I like that Penang is still full of the original old world charm. In Penang, some people still live in villages, the best local food is found on the streets, old pre-war buildings are still densely found in the heart of Georgetown. Walking on the streets of Georgetown makes me feel like walking in a movie set.

Georgetown is now the latest UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia!!

Penang's Malay name is 'Pulau Pinang'. 'Pulau' is island in malay language, and 'Pinang' means betelnut.

Please correct me if I am wrong, this picture is betelnut trees, right?
