Hamin Lodge: Interesting decoration Hamin Lodge Review

Hamin Lodge is interestingly decorated. Furniture in the room is made of bamboo and local wood. It has a special feel to it. There are paintings of local scenes at the common area. Very nice place.

However, the room size is small compared to another place we stayed. Not worth the money. Room doesn't come with breakfast. Water pressure is low when we took shower.

More importantly, the walls in between the rooms are not sound insulated. During our stay, our neighbour was talking loudly at 2am. It was noisy and we couldn't sleep. We complained to the receptionist and he told the neighbour that we complained. Our neighbour then came and yelled at us! What a bad experience!

Unique Qualities: Very well decorated!

Thin partition wall, hope your neighbour is not loud.

New, clean, and friendly: Lavender Lodge Lavender Lodge Review

I stumbled across Lavender Lodge by chance. It was only 4 months old (as in Oct 2007). The room starts from RM45 for fan room, include light breakfast (toast and coffee or tea). Rooms with aircond also available. There are 2 shared bathrooms (come with hot shower) and 2 toilets for 2 rooms to share. The bathrooms and toilets are clean. There is Astro (cable tv) in the common living area.

The husband and wife owner are so frienly. The husband (sorry forgot to get his name) even offered to drive me and my friend around town for sightseeing!! They can advise you on planning your trip in Sabah.

There are at least 3 local restaurants on the same row of shops downstairs. Seafood place with traditional performance is just across the street. Walking distance to bus terminal to Kinabalu National Park, cinemas, Warisan Square and Handicraft Market. Great location!

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu: Best Location!! Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu Review

Le Meridien has the best location in the city of KK! It provides view to the islands of TAR National Park. That means nice sunset! Opposite is the handicraft market (Filipino market), that will make your souvenir shopping easy. In the evening, you can enjoy seafood at the nearby seafood restuarant. Warisan Square is just diagonally accross the street. What more can you ask for?!
