Welcome to Sierra Leone | Fisherman in training: Mahera Beach, Lungi |
Its hard to believe at first a country so rich in gold and diamonds could be rated as the poorest country in the world this year. After living here a while though, you see how rampant corruption on all sides makes their rating a true one.
I've lived here the past year and a half and absolutely love it. The people are amazing; friendly, open and curious. The way of life is simple and layed back, which suits me just fine.
Enjoy some of my pics and don't dwell on the negative things you hear about Sierra Leone. It really is a diamond in the rough, and has given my life a new sparkle : ) |
