My half marathon in Trieste

Trieste was only about an hours drive from where I was living in italy, Roveredo in Piano. I'm an avid runner and saw that there was a marathon going on in Trieste, so I signed up for the half marathon. I hadn't trained enough for the full thing. I stayed at the Jolly hotel in town and found it to be alright. Kind of your standard hotel room, nothing too special. Trieste is a gorgeous city. The city is coastal and there are a number of beaches nearby. But be warned, some of these are full nude beaches, so be prepared (unlike me who just stumbled into one). I ate at a local trattoria to save on cash and had some local vino. Both the food and wine were quite good and so was the pre-race party. The next morning I ran the 13.2 miles and headed home, tired, sore and happy. I went back two weeks later and caught some rays at the beach. The water is crystal clear and freezing! Trieste also has a pretty good night life, but i never really experienced it first hand.

A good place to stay Hotels (1)

This was a pretty standard three star if I remember correctly. A/C, hot water, TV, and linen were all there. Jolly... more travel advice
