One of the funniest things I have ever seen So I was on my way to the local beach resort with some friends when I spotted something up ahead on the road. It was a camel crossing the road! Crossing, but at a very high rate of speed. I wondered why he was running, and then I saw a little Suzuki Sidekick chasing him. I quickly took a photo and then laughed myself silly. Two guys in a Suzuki Sidekick chasing a camel across a busy highway! Only in the desert... |
| | The simple desert life So this is home for me now. I've been here since August of 2003. I took this job to expand my horizons and travel more extensively...and for the money ;-) |
| | Sand Storm! The life out here is pretty basic. You get up, shower, go to work, eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and go work out. Lather, rinse, repeat. Each day is pretty much the same as the next. I don't mind because vacations are so much nicer. The schedule is also good for me because I have time to attend classes online and train for marathons. My first marathon is in July in North Carolina. Wish me luck. Every once in a while we do get a nasty sand storm. Here is a picture of a real nasty one from the air. |

mohan-arun Tue Jan 17, 2006 08:26 UTC this must be a joke. You cannot survive without a car (own or rented). The taxis dont stop and pick u up even if you frantically wave at them, and you are at their mercy whether they will even accept you for a ride - most of them dont ply short distances, | colin_bramso Sat Nov 20, 2004 07:14 UTC You've summed it up pretty well Brock :-) | ukirsari Tue Nov 2, 2004 18:29 UTC a very helpful page, with cool presentation :) regards from jakarta ~@rie~ | John195123 Wed Oct 27, 2004 05:26 UTC Lots of good info here. Nice photos! I'm not quite sure that Americans don't know how to drive... but I, at least, understand the foreign styles of driving very well. |
