General Tips: Visit A Traditional English Pub

Favorite Thing: When you are in London, you have to visit a proper pub! Pubs in england are unlike any other pubs in the world. You can enjoy a cold pint, in a comfy environment and have a chat with some real locals. You can find them in or around London, and are identifiable by their unique names (such as 'The Cat & Parrot' etc) and their exterior designs, see left.

Favorite Thing: Once described by Pele as 'the home of football' Wembley stadium is one of the greatest football stadiums in the world. Although it is now under redevelopment, and the famous two towers are no longer there, a visit to the site where England won the 1966 world cup can never be a waste of time. The new stadium should be finished by 2005, so there'll be some development there for you to see.

Favorite Thing: If you are planning to travel around London, the cheapest way is to buy a daily, weekend, weekly, or even monthly travelcard. It depends on how long you are going to be in London. They are valid on busses, trains, tubes and even the DLR. To buy any travelcard longer than a daily, you'll have to get a picture card. Just take a passport photo and proof of ID to any trainstation and they'll sort it out. A travelcard will save you an incredible amount of money in the long run.

Favorite Thing: It can rain in London at any time of the year, and usually does! Do not be fooled by a clear, bright sky, as this can turn into a torrentual downpour in a matter of seconds. Take an umbrella with you and keep an eye on weather reports.

Favorite Thing: If you visit central London in winter, you will see street vendors selling warm chestnuts. These are very nice, and are in no way associated with the dodgy hotdog/hamburger stalls you will also see. Make sure you try the chestnuts, they're very nice.
