Before coming to Frankfurt my main aim was to see the famous skyline with the skyscrapers.
But while there I realised that it was the old quarter that had the most to offer for the eye and soul.
The beautiful Römer and Römerberg was the highlight. Very touristy of course, but the houses are so wonderful.
On our first day here me and my girlfriend celebrated three years together, and we had a very nice anniversary dinner in one of the restaurants around the corner from Römerberg.
I had planned to book a table in one of the skyscrapers, but realised it was much more romantic to eat in a house from 1479.
We both enjoyed the dinner very much, great way to celebrate three fantastic years together.
- Pros:The classic buildings, good shopping
- Cons:Too short time!

Both me and my girlfriend arrived early in the morning on different flights, and since we would move on further the next... more travel advice
