Football is sometimes taking me to places I never would have thought I would get to see. Thankfully Sweden every now and then is drawn against a country where I haven't been before, and then it's always a pleasure going there.

In the autumn 2009 me and a friend headed to Albania for a week, and decided to get some sunshine in Durres on the albanian west coast for a couple of days.
Quite sleepy city, but a beautiful beach, amazing sunset and very good prices on the five star hotel!

The week before we arrived we read an article about how bad the water at the coast was for your health. Very sad, as that meant we hardly dared to swim at all in the warm water.

But the beach was very nice anyway, and the beer was cheap. :)

There aren't exactly one billion sights to look at in Durres, but the old Roman theater is very nice!

Great tips as usual, Henrik! I won't say that Albania is on my short list of places to visit, but as you said, if FIFA sends you there just go. Too bad about the mussels & seafood. Would hate to get food poisoning on vacation! :(
