Before I went to Aveiro I red that it was "The Venice" of Portugal. That wasn't good...
Because when I went there I had so high expactations, I was looking forward to see another beautiful town, with lots of canales, and nice buildings.
The thruth, according to me, is that Aveiro is a really nice town, calm and with some things to see.
But... it's not a "Venice". There are just two canales, no bridges (well, except for the one outside the center of the town, which was supposed to be amazing, but instead was anything else than that...).
Except for these two canales, which was nice, but nothing special, I couldn't find anything in Aveiro that made me think of Venice.
So, when you're going there; see it as a new town, don't compare it to Venice or anywhere else - and you'll be pleased with you visit!
- Pros:Nice and calm, great beach
- Cons:Venice, huh??!

It's not the Venice, but still it's very nice! It gives the town a nice feeling, since water, at least for me, makes it... more travel advice

Yeah, Aveiro is Aveiro, and Venice is Venice. I have been to both places, but I was disappointed by Venice a lot. Anyway, hope you enjoyed Aveiro though; check out my Aveiro page for pictures and stuff!

Well Aveiro is not Venice but the pastry is great. Did you taste the " ovos moles" from Aveiro?
