Oh how I had been looking forward to finally see the portugese capital. And oh how disappointed I got...
Not because of the city itself, but unfortunately because I never got the chance to see the town...
Our visit was during the Euro2004, and since all persons in our group wanted to see the town we made sure to be in the town early in the day.
It was then the problems started...
First, no parking close to the stadium. Thanks a lot... A guard told us we probably could find another parking 5-6 kilometers away... And then walk back. No thanks...
Eventually we found a spot quite close to the stadium, but it wasn't totally legal... :)
Then... we were looking forward to take a trip to the center, but after we had figured out where we were we felt sure there was no way to get back in time for the game at the stadium.
And there were nothing close to the stadium that we could see either, no big screen-tv, no places to have a beer, nothing interesting to see, and then the whole stadium-zone closed down due to security-reasons..
No, Lisbon was definately the biggest (and, the only...) disappointment of our Portugal-tour, but then I at least have another reason to go back in the future.
- Pros:The game (Sweden-Bulgaria 5-0)
- Cons:The bad organization, which made us miss the whole town...
- In a nutshell:I'll be back... :)

This should probably only be under the "sports"-section, but the two stadiums in Lisbon really is something to see, even... more travel advice

Did you enjoy your trip/football game? Waiting for new tips! Nat
wow, really big stadium in Lisbon! I loved my trip in this city - lot´s to see there - you should really come back to see more than the stadium;)
Perhaps you may add more tips. This is a nice beginning to your page.
Estadio da Luz is better, but both are really beautiful! Not mentioning the rest... :)
