Povoa De Varzim is a lovely little town, 30 kilometers north of Porto, in the very north of Portugal. We spent almost a week in this region during the Euro2004, and had a great time!
The things to see in the town is the casino, quite huge - where you during the football-tournament could see all the games on a big tv-screen. And, even more important, the beer costs just 1 euro... :)
The beach is also a great place, although we prefered the pool at our hotel outside Povoa. But we went past the beach every evening, and always said; "tomorrow we have to go here".
Needless to say, we never got that far... |

The Portuguese and French were crazy super fans in the square in front of Hotel DeVille. I even saw 6 guys with matching track suits and matching vespas all cheering for France. |
