São João da Madeira Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 5 photos

This was the second place we stayed at during our Euro2004-trip, and although it wasn't as nice as Povoa de Varzim, it was still a place that I liked.
The city itself is quite big, around 10 000 people living there is my guess (probably totally wrong, but at least I made a guess... :) ) and is situated around 30 kilometers south of Porto, and 30 kilometers north of Aveiro.
Unfortunately not that close to the beach, you need a car, or maybe there is a bus (?), to get there.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Cheap place close to the bigger cities
Cons:Unfortunately not big enough, you'll need a car or a taxi
In a nutshell:Not that much to see in the town, perfect to stay in for a night before going on.
