It's a hot little land-locked dustball of a town, but as soon as you accept this, you can start to find its charms. People are very chill, it's a live and let live place. You'll see poverty everywhere but if you pay attention you'll see beauty too.

In my opinion its better than Sofitel but of course no Four Seasons, the Grand is where everyone heads for a nice sunset... more travel advice
