Going there to live

Imagine being a rather strange 12 year old growing up in Minneapolis Minnesota.. a girl obsessed with memorizing the National Geographic maps which covered her walls.
A girl who sat day in and day out mezmerized by the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona... I have the tapes to prove it!
I became obsessed with Barcelona. I fantasized about running off and marrying a Spanish boy, and living in Spain, and having an apartment with flowers hanging from the balcony where I could watch people all night.... well to make a very long story short.. I'm almost there.
I met my Spanish boy when I was 20 years old, we were married less then a year later, and now we have an almost 2 year old daughter... and we're moving back to Spain. Not to Barcelona, but Sevilla... My 12 year old wisdom was still pretty dead on other than that. :)

My vision of Spain had very little to do with flamenco and much to do with fountains. This picture taken in Granada reminds me of my first moments looking out the window in Spain.. the fountains in Barcelona.
It was like the scene in "Todos Sobre mi Madre" when Maneula goes back to Barcelona and stares in awe out the cab window.
