| Sunset on Santa Monica Beach |
Santa Monica doesn’t have a beautiful beach in Southern California standard, but it is loved by many people from different ages, occupations, and lifestyles.
This is the beach for families with small children and teenagers who are old enough to be alone but not old enough to stay out after the 11:00 curfew. This is the town for rivalry college students who try to bash each other in sport talk -- UCLA cannot stand USC, ‘SC cannot stand UCLA, and Pepperdine does not stand a chance in the big league to take side. This is the town for unemployed actors and young executives, floaters and well-heeled retirees, teachers and bums. This is the city of expensive homes and lovely rent-controlled apartments. This is the typical California city for it is full of high priced cars. This is an unusual California city for it has a prominent public transportation system.
Everyone loves Santa Monica because it had a revered past, it has an admired present, and it is going to have a respected future. This is not a town to pass by on your way somewhere, this is a town to stay in and stay put, even though it doesn’t have a beautiful beach by Southern California standard. |

belly2 Fri Dec 22, 2006 19:11 UTC I agree with your daugher. The tiramisu was the turn off for me. It looked pre packaged, like they bought it from Costco. Wasn't a nice ending. | BluBluBlu Tue Jul 18, 2006 09:10 UTC Nice SM page...next time I must visit at night! Blu |
