Christmastime In Nürnberg

by Ciambella - last update: Mar 27, 2006

The medieval Old Town transforms itself each year into a huge open-air market during Christmastime. Under the lights of the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), eat the half-meter long bratwurst or the waffle with powder sugar, drink the gluhwein (hot spiced wine), and be merry!

Excellent information about Nurnberg. I will be there November 2005 with my grandson on leave from Iraq as an Army Medic. He wants to see the city that his father was born in.

Thanks for the tip on the Hans Sachs Married Life Fountain. I'm going to Nürnberg again next weekend, and will make a point of having a look at it. (Not staying at the ibis this time.)

I think you are right about the higher price for the convenience of not having to cross the street drunk, oh that German beer!! Kat
