  • As of most churches in Tirol, Pirchmoos Chapel has an onion-shaped dome and very baroque looking. Constructed in 1896, this little chapel is very colourful for a church. If the yellow paint on the outside strikes you as a bit bright, you should prepare yourself for the vivid blue marble posts and gold plated altar and statues inside.

    Things To Do: Lake Moorsee

  • Lake Moorsee in the village of Söll is a multi-purpose lake. In the spring, it is a fishing lake. In the summer, it is a swimming lake. In the winter, it is an ice-skating and ice-curling lake. In any time of the year, this is one of the best photo-op, with the Kaisergebirge mountain range in the background and the trees standing

My walk in the wood led me to Lake Moorsee and beyond. The lake was frozen for it was a few days before Christmas, and Gashaus Moorsee was also closed. There was not a soul to be seen and not a sound to be heard. The only thing that disturbed the silence was the slight wind that blew the snow off the pine trees.

Directions: From the center, veer to the right at Sotto Zero, go pass Franzlholf and continue through the forest. At the first curve after the forest ends, you will find Lake Moorsee on the right side of the road. The walk takes 15 minutes in good weather.

visited Soll 6 times, about to go again for the 7th. Mirabell is wonderful, the owner Margaret recognises us whenever we go even if its several years since our last visit. Agree with canardvert it is the friendliest village in the world.
