Packing Lists: The Travel Necessities

Luggage And Bags: The best travel bag is a small, two-strap bag that you can carry on your back or off one shoulder. It should have leather drawstrings and outside flap-over with sturdy snap (lockable is an added bonus). A pickpocket will need both hands to pry open this kind of bag. You can find this style at any good leather store. The key word here is "leather". Don't skimp and buy cheap stuff. A leather bag is more elegant and more suitable for all occasions.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Unless it is summertime, always dress in layers for Paris. The range of temperatures is wide and the weather change is rapid. A light sweater/blazer in the spring/autumn and a coat in the winter are necessary. For women, a scarf or two will dress up a casual outfit.
Toiletries & Medical Supplies: Never travel without Band-Aid Blister Block. If you are coming from Europe, the equivalent product is Compeed.

TravellerMel Thu Sep 4, 2008 19:12 UTC Your Pere Lachaise Cemetery tip was beautiful - I "felt" with you! Personally, I love that place - very peaceful. I always have to stop and say "Hello, I love you" to Jim Morrison... | mvtouring Mon Apr 14, 2008 12:07 UTC Brilliant tips ;-) | parismumsie Fri Mar 21, 2008 14:15 UTC Your photos of la Tour Eiffel are stunning. Would love to know what settings you used to get the beautiful "sparkly" one! | clementine31129 Fri Feb 1, 2008 21:09 UTC From the center of the city, how long did it take for you to walk here? |
