Zhaoxing overlook

Dong nationality is famous for their singing. Although the best place to enjoy this art is in Xiaohuang, Zhaoxing is relatively better known to the world maybe because of its earliest images presentation in France. However Zhaoxing has its unique feature too. In the village there're totally 5 drum towers, 5 roofed bridges and 5 stages. Normally there won't be so many in a village.

Drum tower is a symbol of Dong nationality. If you see a drum tower you can be sure of arriving in a Dong village. Drum tower is where people gather together to meet,rest or enjoy entertainment. Thus beside there'll be a square with a stage. When Dong people move to a new place they put up the drum tower first. After that they build houses around. Drum tower is completely made of wood. The shape and level vary but the level of height is must of odd number.

I like those Dong drum towers. I wish I could put one in my backyard.
