Even for most Chinese people Guizhou is kinda mysterious as we are of Han nationality while here in Guizhou Province most people are from many different Minorities. Among them Miao and Dong are the two biggest that they occupy over 60% of the population. Especially in southeast region exist the largest Miao village and the largest Dong village. Due to the diversity of folk custums between different groups there's an abundance of festivals throughout the year. And this has been the main attraction to outsiders. Only in Qian Dongnan (the southeast region) alone there're over 150 large festivals not to mention the small ones.

Kaili is the capital of Qian Dongnan. I started the trip from here then went down to Xijiang,Rongjiang,Congjiang (Biasa),Zhaoxing and finally entered Guangxi Province to visit Yangshuo and get back from Guilin. The most beautiful scenery is on the road especially the journey from Rongjiang to Congjiang where a lot of villages scatter along the river Du Liu Jiang.

Great photos and I enjoy reading the text, too!! They reminded me of my trip to the area, however, I did it from Yangshuo to Kaili and the transportation was a lot harder to arrange. The CITS in Kaili was a lot friendlier than the one in Guilin.

Spicy and sour food? No, thank you! It's good to know Guizhou province has a phone booth, though, so I can order a pizza!
