I must say I didn't expect any problems entering Bahrain ... but be aware visa's on arrivals rules have changed ..... I had gone thru Bahrain on my way to India in the last week of February and 10 days later when I was coming thru again I was detained with numerous other Westerner's... our passports taken away and told we weren't gonna be allowed to enter the country .... no information was given, just a scary situation ..... after about 3 hours I was asked to explain to an official my business in Bahrain. The official asked me several times if I had been to Israel as he was looking thru my passport ... after several questions, the official directed me towards the immigration counter where I paid 5 Bahrain dinars and finally my passport was returned to me and I was allowed to enter the country. Not a good way to spend 12 hours in Bahrain ....
