Ok....well, this time in Paris we opted to stay on the world Famous Champs-Elysees....literally..... .only 100 yards from the metro stop....location for this hotel couldn't be better !!!This Mariott Hotel is great...The staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable of there great city. Everyone speaks English for those who fear the language barrier !!!! The rooms are HUGE and nice and clean...bathrooms have both walk in showers and tubs !!!! Our room had a balcony facing the courtyard, at night the doors are locked and one must show a room card in order to enter the hotel. The elevators have room key access also...great for security reasons and the business center is top-notch !!!! Room service and request made to the conceirge were done fast !!! Overall great stay.... will stay here again next time in Paris !!!!
Unique Qualities: The best part of this hotel is the location...on the Champs-Elysees and about 100 yard walk to the Franklin D. Roosevelt metro stop !!!! Request a room with 2 Double beds....that way you can sleep in one and put all your stuff and oragnize everything on the other one !!!! and the rooms are usually bigger due to the fact that the room needs to be bigger to fit the other bed !!! Just a tip I've learned from traveling everywhere !!!!

This is probable the worst hotel I have ever stepped into......I was so disgusted with this place that we left the first day without even staying any nights, and went around looking for another place to stay at !!!! When we informed the front desk person who happens to be the owner, of our plans he protested, in order to just leave this place, I went ahead and paid the 7 nights I was to stay there and later I protested the charge with American Express who overturned the charge !!!! This place claims to be a 3 star hotel....how I don't know !!!!! The room was to be 2 double beds enough to fit the 4 people in our party.....the beds were stuck together and just one person was able to fit.....we didn't even sit on the bed to try, when we saw the bathroom, my girlfriend almost threw up !!!! The pictures of the hotel I saw on the internet was nothing what the hotel looked like, if it look somewhat what the internet showed then it would have been ok......I hope everyone stays away from this place......they charge about 100 euros a night.....don't know how people could stay in this place !!! NEVER AGAIN...or even close to it !!!!!!!!!
Unique Qualities: NOTHING !!!! terrible place....stay away !!!!

Ok let's be very honest.THIS place is not for everyone. The price to stay here is absolutely outrageous !! But I had the pleasure of staying here on the company bill..and well let's just say. I don't think they let me do my own travel arraignments again :) and I honestly believe I will never be able to afford this place on a vacation. And I have stayed at numberous Four Seasons around the world but this one is in a class all to itself !! Located on one of the World's most exculsive streets George V in Paris. The location is PERFECT !! The rooms are HUGE. 85% of the rooms have balconies either facing the Effiel tower or the beautiful gardens. The bathrooms have ultra luxurious ammenties..the towels are to die for !!! (You can actually purchase the towels at a steep $50 Euro a piece) The hotel staff is without a doubt well taught in international hospitality !! No request was too small for them !! Breakfast was included in the 750 Euro a night room !! and it was either served in the world famous "Le Cinq" rest. or brought up to your room..but believe me take the world's most expensive breakfast ($50 Euro if your not staying at the hotel) at the "Le Cinq" restraunt..."Le Cinq" is considered one of the best restraunt not only in Paris, but the entire world !! And even breakfast is something to be seen at this place !!! as for room service...One can order a $30 Euro burger with a $3,000 Euro bottle of Petrus wine straight up to the room if you wanted too !!! Complimentary airport service is offered after your stay in the Four Seasons ultra luxurious Mercedes Benz !!! Staying in this place is like a dream !!! but the only down side is the price..starting at 750 Euro's for a standard room(like the one I was in)(which is really suite like) to 2800 Euro's for top suites !!! It's not for the faint at heart !! Felt like the most important person on earth while staying here. PERFECT 10 out of 10 !!! If you can afford the price...then there's no question stay here....but at 750 Euro's a night IT's not for everyone !!
Unique Qualities: The pool and spa are considered if not the best, one of the best in all the entire world !!!! 400 Euro for an all day spa treatment !!!! Only if I could bill it to the company !!!! but they wouldn't go for it !!! :)

I must say I wasn't happy about staying at this hotel first. It's in La Defense section of town which is dead during the weekend, but that makes it a better hotel deal. Since there is no business traveler's on weekend's the hotel offer's excellent prices.....200 Euro's a night in a club room with breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly always with a smile, and a pleasant Bonjour or Bonsoir....they all speak perfect English among the 10 different languages spoken here. It's about a 5 minute walk from the #2 line of the Metro up some stairs and there was the hotel. The rooms are nice and big (not like other french hotels, read my other hotel tips) the bathroom very nice, and the security is excellent, one must insert a room key in order to work the elevators and only the floor you stay are allowed to access. The health club is excellent with nice showers which we were allowed to use on our arrival (our room wasn't ready yet) For the money you save it well worth the 4 metro stops(about 10 minutes) HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!!
Unique Qualities: Since it's in the business district of Paris ..La Defense..it is very quiet at night, which if you stayed in the center of Paris it's the opposite. Not shady just a bit deserted but not once did we feel unsafe, plenty of people are around.

When coming to Paris the options of Hotels are numberous, after having a disastrous start (read my other hotel tip) we decided that we would stay at a American Hotel chain. The down side the price........pricey to say the least. If your looking for American Standard rooms without the French flare then come here....the staff helpful, but the attraction here is both the rooms and location.....The rooms are very big by French standards...the views of the Effiel tower are breathtaking.....The prices here are more expensive during the weekend then during the week....but regardless.....if your used to staying at a nice place with enough room to move around your hotel room and not be disgusted by anything in the bathroom then this is the place !!!!
Unique Qualities: Large rooms, great bathrooms, and awesome views of Paris...ask for a room on the upper floors !!!!!

Well, hotels rooms in Paris are either expensive and crappy or expensive and luxurious...but I guess I found a hidden treasure...This hotel is a block away from the Arc de Triomphe, a metro stop, the Air France Airport bus stop, and the world famous Champs-Elysees Ave. The rooms are a bit small and the bathrooms are clean... but location and the freindly staff make up for the rooms. A breakfast is included in the rates. The breakfast is somewhat simple..but just trying having eggs and bacon in Paris and see how much that will set you back !!!!! Great for travelers who can't drop 350 Euros a night at the Hilton !!!!!!!
Unique Qualities: A really good hotel for a great price and awesome location !!!!

Roadquill Tue Nov 29, 2005 08:05 UTC Funny tip about the "French Breakfast" at many of the hotels. When you can spend 5 euro for the same thing at one of the many coffee shops. | aussiedoug Thu Feb 24, 2005 23:44 UTC Votre tips sont fantastique. You'd better drop by Sydney page & check my $20 Aussie Brekkie Restaurant tip with the 2 die 4 views of the Harbour, Bridge & Opera House. As much as I love Paris it doesn't have those (not with a decent feed at the same time). | davequ Wed Feb 9, 2005 19:23 UTC Bonjour to a fellow member of the Tour d'Argent club.
