Spent most of the time sleeping outdoors in the mountains and desert. For a change of pace (and a shower) the bed hotel in Iferouane run by Le Pilier is the best. Agadez is the city from which the desert tours start. Recommend Le Pilier for food and hotel, somewhat expensive but excellent -- you can even get italian gelato there.
I think in US dollars about $40 per night with breakfast.
Unique Qualities: It is beautifully decorated in Tuareg style. Iferouane has no electricity (as most of Niger) but the hotel has solar power. All comforts and great service and food.
