Ice cream parlors: Land of milk and...ice cream!

India has the world's largest population of hoofed bovines (think: sacred cows). Thus, the country produces so much supply of milk not just to feed its more-than-a-billion people, but also to churn out other related products such as butter, yoghurt, and everybody's favorite - ICE CREAM.

The ones I've tasted in India are suuupppeerrrr delicious, suuupppeeerrrr creamy ice cream that come in various flavors - mocha, chocolate, butterscotch, strawberry and simple yet suuupppeeerrrrr yuuummmyyy vanilla (said to be the preferred flavor in India).

To have these suuuupppeeerrrr yuuummmyyy treats, just look for those colorful, ubiquitous ice cream stalls scattered all over the country (the one shown here is in Ghandhinagar, Gujarat, just outside Ahmededabad). Most restaurants (called hotels in India) also serve ice cream as do all hotels (the one where you sleep, eat, etc.).

Now, if you happen to be in Ahmedabad (capital of Gujarat state), you are in for a very special treat. This city is regarded as India's ice cream capital and is home to three large ice cream factories. I was served several scoops of vanilla ice cream at my hotel (their compliments), and it was pure bliss!
