For the past year I have lived in Big Bear City, CA. Close to Big Bear Lake and other mountain communities such as Lake Arrowhead and Angelus Oaks.
Till this past year, I didn't think California experienced much change during the seasons, and though the changes here in the mountains were not dramatic, there were definate 'changes of the seasons'.
The weather of Summer and Fall seemed to blend together, though with the dryness of those seasons comes the high risk of fires as we experienced last year. For the first time in this area's history it snowed before Nov 3rd, a miracle according to localists, and one which saved our area.
The winter brought greatly needed snow to the mountains, though it wasn't as bad as we had anticipated. I've been told it can snow even in April and May, but it seems the last snow was the recent one we had at the beginning of April.
It hasn't started raining yet, I miss the rain more than anything else, but there's been strong winds lately, making the air chilly even for me.
NOTE: I will be adding more within the next few days.
