"kei kecil" Kei Kecil by nabunay

kei really lives up to its reputation of beauty. when the ship cruised nearer to kei island, the islands, beaches & the water just became more breath-taking! they immediately commanded my attention & mesmerized me.

since i've come mainly to see the beaches at kei, i headed straight to pasir panjang. an ojek ride from the city to pasir panjang takes less than 30min. the journey will bring you through rustic villages and plantations & if you were to depart in the dawn, enjoy the cold morning fresh & vast starry sky.

unbelieveable! pasir panjang beach really stunned me with its beauty. i simply couldnt believe that there could be sand as white & fine to be found in asia, what more here in indonesia which is such a misunderstood & misjudged country. the sand is indeed as fine & white as powder and flour.

but to enjoy its perfect beauty & serenity, one really ought to come on a weekday. it is far too crowded on a weekend with the locals.

pasir panjang beach still captivated me on my returned visit. this time, the trip is made more wondrous with the sightings of more birds around the various islands. i know nothing about birds but their existence makes the beauty more complete.

personally, i find it getting expensive to get to kei kecil unless if one has the luxury of time to travel by sea instead of air. air tickets are too steep for a plane so small & old & short a flight.
