I lived and worked north of Crystal River in a place called Red Level in 1973. Crystal River has grown a lot since 1973, and there are plenty of restaurants and hotels and motels there now. While I lived there I learned to scuba dive and went diving in the river, in springs, and in a cave that my instructor owned and used to train cave divers. About 40 miles from Ocala (Silver Springs where the old Tarzan movies were filmed) and about 80 miles north of Tampa. There's great fishing in Crystal River, in the Gulf of Mexico, and in Withlacoochee Lake. I loved it there.
