The stone church was buildt in the early 1100s. After 30 years of open ruin, the painter J.J. Bennetter in 1871 bought the site and buildt it up as a studio.
From the beginning of 1900 it fell in to ruin again, but in 1995 the ruinchurch again stood there. It now reflects over 900 years of architectural heritage |

Happy birthday!! I have never been to Norway but when I lived in North Dakota, I had several friends who had come to the USA from Stavanger. They were great people. |
