Getting there from UK ThompsonFly from Coventry into Marco Polo airport; landed at 4.40pm after a 2 hr. flight (£40 ret. inc. tax) Bought a 72 hour Pass for public transport (22 euros) and got straight on a No 5 bus outside the terminal. Half an hour later we were in the Bus Station in Venice, next to the Grand Canal/Piazza Roma. Got on a no 82 vaporetto and sat back to marvel at the palaces along the Grand Canal. Very busy with lots of people getting on and off at every stop. Could have got a No 1 , but it takes longer as it stops more often. 30 minutes later we got off at Guardini and made our way to the hotel (no problem) |
