"The city of clay" Ostan-e Yazd by global_explorer

Esfahan has its magnificent tilework and are the jewel of Iran. Yazd dont't boost the same number of monumental buildings, but there certainly are some genuine gems. Instead its trademark is an unique old adobecity, probably still very similar to the great cities existing in places like Indus or Mesopotamia. In one way it certainly is right to call Yaxd for the biggest living museum of Iran. This is the place wher you can wander for hours in a maze of silent streets, and then visit noisy bazars. Here there are several smaller bazars not linked to eachother, it is not the one huge bazararea known from many other cities. it is a place where you easily can observe some traditional craft and you will find a couple of unique hotels in old houses in the adobecity. An attraction in itself.
