"Islams jewel" Esfahan by global_explorer
Esfahan Travel Guide: 336 reviews and 991 photos
Esfahan is a mix between modern noise and ancient beauty. The trafic can be horrific, and the modern quarters are not allways that charming. But then there is the big and facinating bazararea. In the heart of the city some of the most amazing buildings to be found anywhere in the islamic world are consentrated. Here are lots of delightfull parks to while away hot afternoons, or talk to the often very talkative locals, or maybe have a little flirt with the local girls.... It is actually fully possible these days. Through the heart of the city flows a river spanned by a number of bridges. some new and practical, some old and beautiful. Along the riverbanks there are parks reaching several kilometers. This area, including the bridges are the livingroom of the esfahanis. Here many spend the whole evening. The other half are to be found in the shoppingarea who are busy until late evening. Esfahan definately have a living soul and a big heart, it is a place everybody travel to,with good reason.
