Relax in Mexico!

Mexico Sunset
For a quick vacation to relax, Mazatlan is less of a tourist trap than other beach towns in Mexico. Being a small town surrounded by desert and not much else it is more an authentic experience if you want to relax and lay on the beach for a few days. The food was delicious and the beaches quiet but it also depends on what area you choose. If you want to be in town for more action choose a hotel in the golden triangle district, which is more of a tourist area with less private beaches but is close to everything.

La Playa

Having been throughout Mexico I decided to get out of town for a cheap little trip to lay on the beach and recover from the last 3 years. So I get to the beach and a storm is brewing off the coast. What does this mean? Little sun! Most of the week i spent laying under a thatched palm umbrella reading a book and sipping a margarita. The place I stayed "El Faro" had a private beach which i had mostly to myself with the exception of two days. After praying for the sun to come out it finally did and i turned into a lobster in 1 day and broke into a terrible rash and spent the rest of the week nursing a sunburn. It would highly suggest if you are just going to relax in Mazatlan, to pick a hotel away from the golden zone such as the El Faro. It is very peaceful and away from the spring breakers.

Pros:"Less of a tourist trap. Relaxing!"
Cons:"Not a lot to do except sit on the beach. The town is a bit dirty."
In A Nutshell:"Go if you want to relax on the beach and eat authentic mexican food."
