Wow! A thrilling jet boat ride like no other. Acutally, hair raising at times. Be prepared for numerous 360 degree turns up, and down the canyon. The driver does give plenty of warning with his hand to hold on tight (heated handrails help during the cold days). He will also insist on driving the boat extremely close to the canyon rock wall (just for that added white knuckle effect) when he has plenty of room in the center of the river! Aside from the thrills of the ride; it is a beautiful area, and a great way to spend a few hours. Our driver Shane assured us he had properly completed the 6 weeks/120 hours of required driver training!

One of the milder activities available in Queenstown, but still plenty of fun! Take the gondola up to the top, and enjoy a spin down the luge track. Plenty of packages available for as many rides as you would like. A slower (photo friendly) track gives you the feel of the luge, and then you can try your hand at the faster track. We laughed the entire way down! Fun for everyone. The views from the gondola are absolutely beautiful!

No, I was not crazy enough to jump; however, my friend Sandi made the plunge. She jumped from the Kawarau Bridge (site of the first bungy in 1988). It was a beautiful location, and she had a blast. It was all very safe and organized, and a mere 142 feet! Photos and DVD's available for purchase to record the event (and fear) in living color. The shuttle leaves from the Shotover Jet Building several times a day.
