The Only VT Page on the perfect Medieval Village Approximately 20 miles from both Cannes and Nice, this charming village is directly on the Grasse - Vence highway. Violets grow everywhere, honored each year in March by a violet festival floats and a "flower battle". There are no hotels as such, although many villas in the area are available for rental. For parking, there is a large carpark right south of the main road but no parking in the village. The population approximates 4000 but the number of visitors is much less than many other hill villages because of less access - see Gourdon page. At only 4 km from Vence it is an easy and enjoyable outing. Note that the original spelling included an "S" for Tourette as in the signpost above. |
