My fourth World Wonder | Opening time...and NO crowds! |
Rome's Colosseo, China's Great Wall, Jordan's Petra and now Chichen Itza. What an exhilirating feeling to see them and a lingering desire to see the remaining 3. |
| | Man, this place is HUGE! Don't make the mistake of going here late in the afternoon like we did at Uxmal. You need about half a day to see the entire place, preferably when it opens at 8 as advised by many VTers. See my tip on how crowded it can become. |
But too bad many structures are cordoned off Not only is climbing El Castillo banned, but even going up the Caracol or Observatory is disallowed. The only areas where one could enter and linger are the Mercado and an area behind the Thousand Columns.
Don't forget to see my travelogue! | | | See the stars here...and I don't mean ham actors. |
