| Dundas Street near Eaton Center |
I was in Toronto 2 years ago but since my family and I stayed only for a night, we didn't get to see much of the city then...until now. Some relatives who lived there invited us over as we were in New Jersey, so after almost 10 hours of overnight driving we got back and saw the sights unrushed and in-depth. No, I didn't go up the CN Tower, just made a leisurely drive around town then a little shopping at Chinatown and at the Eaton Center. |
| Yikes! The tower has grown branches?!? |
| | With all due respect to Toronto residents, if it were not for the CN Tower the city would have looked no different from other North American cities. I guess one can say that the tower is the city's identifying landmark, much like the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. |
Despite its many modern edifices, Toronto still has vestiges of its past like the old city hall right beside the Eaton Center. A newer and sleeker building has replaced it but it was a good thing they did not demolish this architectural jewel whose Victorian architectural style can also be appreciated with other buildings nearby from the same era. | | | A city hall with its own Big Ben, eh? |
