| Ah...aren't we too early for new year's eve? |
At Times Square I acted as a sort of tourist guide to my family since I usually read up about the places I'll be visiting beforehand. So I told them about the significance of Times Square, it being the site of the New Year's Eve balldrop as well as the gateway to all the Broadway shows and theaters. That convinced them to stand and pose in the middle island for a photo despite the fumes of passing vehicles! |

Rockefeller Center Across St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Ave. is Rockefeller Center, also known as The Rock for short. Like the Empire State building, it offers elevator rides to its rooftop for a panoramic view of the city. At the base of the building is of course the square where tourists aggregate. At a nearby building the ground floor is where the daily NBC morning program is aired live, with bystanders can be seen milling around hoping to be caught on camera. |
