If in Cairo or other places in the Middle East, you get to smell a lot of camel dung, here in Luxor it's more of horse dung. That's because there are a lot of these carriages that bring you up and down the main riverside avenue, where you can enjoy the sight and evening breeze of the Nile.

The Valley of the Kings is essentially a cemetery, and when you enter each tomb there's really nothing much to see but a long corridor or passageway full of hieroglyphs on both walls and ceilings that lead up to the chamber that once housed the pharaoh's sarcophagus. Given the heat inside, believe me, you wouldn't want to linger in any tomb for more than 5-10 mins. No photos or videos allowed.

From the entrance you get a separate ticket (shown) for the mini-train round trip, similar to the ones in Disney parks that shuttle visitors from the parking lot. However, everybody just jumps into the cars as soon as the previous passengers have disembarked so I'm not sure if anyone really checks the tickets.

An admission ticket allows entry to any 3 tombs of your choice except Tut's (which will cost another 50 LE). Your stub will be punched (as shown) as you enter.
