Getting TO/AROUND: There is only one train from/to Sofia (distance 586km):
    1. departs from Sofia at 21.20 pm and arrives in Dobrich at 6.27am.
    2. departs from Dobrich at 10.05pm and arrives in Sofia at 7.13am

    Dobrich-Varna-Dobrich (distance 93km)
    1. departs from Varna at 2.23 pm and arrives in Dobrich at 4.40pm
    2. departs from Dobrich at 11.33am and arrives in Varna at 1.32pm

Dobrich has two trainstations (gari) : North (Sever) and South (Yug). To get downtown you need to get off at Gara South /Yug.

To get downtown, cross the subway/street and head directly straight; and you'll end up downtown; you need no more than 10-15 min.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you're coming from Sofia example (or other long distance) the best is to use the ETAP buses.

ETAP buses have several routes to/from Dobrich. The bus stop is at the parking of Hotel"Bulgaria". The office hours are 6am to 12am. The beset is to buy tickets in advance, although the buses are rarely packed (except for Sofia ).

I've used Sfia -Dobrich -Sofia bus many times and i have no complains. On contrary, if you get a crazy driver you might take the distance for less than 7 hours.

Here are some time departures, taken from the ETAP website

    Dobritch - Omurtag | 6:30 , 12:30
    Dobritch - Shumen | 6:30 , 12:30
    Dobritch - Sofia | 6:30 , 12:30
    Dobritch - Targovishte | 6:30 , 12:30
    Dobritch - Varna | 6:30 , 12:30
    Dobritch - Veliko Tarnovo | 6:30 , 12:30

    Omurtag - Dobritch | 13:30 , 16:00
    Shumen - Dobritch | 21:00
    Sofia - Dobritch | 13:30 , 16:00
    Targovishte - Dobritch | 18:00 , 20:30
    Varna - Dobritch | 19:30 , 22:00
    Veliko Tarnovo - Dobritch | 16:30 , 19:00

Lovely page. Had to smile when I read the tip about gevrek. In my language the word means dead. But I am sure that gevrek is not dead at all, but a great thing to eat. Looks like german prezel. ;-)

The gevrek sounds tasty, but I think I would try it with coffee instead of boza.
