Cozumel is a tiny island located 12 miles from the Eastern Coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is easily accessible by ferry from Playa del Carmen, a tourist town in the Mayan Riviera.
There is one main road which circumnavigates the Island, except for the northernmost part. Here the land is very rocky, making travel impossible. The interior of the island is very lush, with dense tropical foliage, contrasted by numerous beautiful white sandy beaches.
Whether you enjoy visiting Mayan ruins, scuba diving, high-end shopping at the cruise ship dock or sitting on the beach with a book, Cozumel has it all.
- Pros:Laid back, unassuming, relaxing

Revisiting your Cozumel page makes me crave a lazy day on the beach reading (like you suggested!). I can't help but wonder what Cozumel looks like after the hurricane! Thanks for stopping by my pages!
Hi, Penny, If you had to choose between Cozumel and Punta Cana, which one would it be? I loved it in Cozumel but have not been to the other one yet. Joe.
