Beloit Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 6 photos

The town site of Beloit was originally known as Willow Springs. Local legend has it that the local Indians advised Bell (the founder of the town) to locate the town at a certain bend of the Solomon river to protect the town from tornadoes. To this date, downtown Beloit has never been hit with a tornado, although out-laying areas have.

Must see sights/attractions include: St. John’s Catholic church, the Mitchell County Courthouse and the Little Red Schoolhouse to name but a few.

Did You Know

In August 2014, Beloit suffered a major hailstorm that lasted for 30 minutes with hail the size of baseballs.
