Munich is Germanys third-largest city and when I was there many years before the fall of the Berlin Wall it was dubbed the unofficial capital of the country.
There is more to Munich than its two best-known industries, beer and BMW. Its parks, palaces, museums and opera house make it a top tourist spot in Germany, its people also cherish their folk customs, notably the wearing of Bavarian alpine costume. |
